CPLC is excited to announce we've been awarded a new grant to start the first Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) in the state of Arizona! We are honored to be one of only two organizations in Arizona given this great opportunity to build a dedicated program in Arizona that provides assertive outreach, case management, therapy, psychological testing, psychiatric care, and medication management to children and adults who have been the victims of crime.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) serves recent victims of violent crime, including survivors of physical assault, sexual assault, gunshot wounds, stabbings, domestic violence and human trafficking. The TRC Psychologist will serve as a senior clinician and provide trauma-informed assessment, psychotherapy and assertive case management services to survivors of violent crime. The Psychologist will also provide consultation and training to staff and trainees on trauma-informed evidence-based interventions.
SPECIALIZATIONS
- Must demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to cultural issues and community practices of low income and at-risk families, including dual language speakers.
- Must have experience providing services to both adult and child populations and members experiencing trauma.
- Proficiency in computer software systems (Microsoft Office Suite – Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication competency
LEADERSHIP
While this role does not directly supervise team members, the Psychologist works closely with TRC interdisciplinary team members to ensure that each treatment modality is appropriate and provides high-quality consultation on the psychosocial ramifications of trauma, substance abuse, psychiatric problems and chronic medical problems. The Psychologist will take the lead in preparing, planning, conducting in-service trainings, case conferences, and community presentations on the assessment and treatment of trauma.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
- Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, educational or school psychology
- Licensed in the State of Arizona by the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners
- Minimum 3 years post-doctoral experience in the delivery of psychological treatment to children, adolescents and adults
- Experience working with trauma survivors from underserved populations, including young people of color, people who are homeless and/or chronically mentally ill, people from immigrant and refugee groups, and LGBTQ people
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered to meet the qualifications of this position.
- Experience providing evidence-based, trauma-focused treatment
- Experience doing case management, outreach, and home visits
Other Requirements:
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a Level 1 fingerprint card.
- Current CPR/First Aid (or equivalent) certification.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance within Arizona.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
POSITION DEMANDS:
May visit patient at home and/or in the community for the purpose of outreach and follow-up if the patient is unable to keep regularly scheduled appointments.
