CPLC is excited to announce we've been awarded a new grant to start the first Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) in the state of Arizona! We are honored to be one of only two organizations in Arizona given this great opportunity to build a dedicated program in Arizona that provides assertive outreach, case management, therapy, psychological testing, psychiatric care, and medication management to children and adults who have been the victims of crime.

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
The Trauma Recovery Center serves recent victims of violent crime, including survivors of physical assault, sexual assault, gunshot wounds, stabbings, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The Trauma Recovery Center Psychiatrist provides mental health consultation, direct psychiatric assessment, and brief treatment to members with acute trauma, chronic trauma, and mental illness. This includes engagement, assessment, differential diagnosis, medication management, patient education, risk assessment, and discharge planning. Participates in on-call rotation for the system and participates in utilization management and quality improvement activities.
The Psychiatrist is responsible for specialized duties, including but not limited to:
- Complete initial psychiatric assessments, progress notes, annual psychiatric updates. Develop differential diagnostic assessments, risk assessments, patient education, and progress towards treatment goals.
- Work closely with Trauma Recovery Center interdisciplinary team members to ensure that each treatment modality is appropriate for the member.
- Order follow-up blood levels and supportive laboratory tests according to standard medical practice
- Initiate contact with Primary Care Physicians, Emergency Room clinicians, and psychotherapists according to established guidelines.
- Utilize appropriate medication based on best practices, in addition to appropriately completing required documentation for preauthorization of pharmacy services.
SPECIALIZATIONS
- Must demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to cultural issues and community practices of low income and at-risk families, including dual language speakers
- Must have experience providing services to both adult and child populations and members experiencing trauma
- Proficiency in computer software systems including Microsoft Office, which includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication competence
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education/Background
- Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy with a specialty in Psychiatry
- Licensed in the State of Arizona as a medical doctor. Successfully completed psychiatric residency program
- Valid DEA certification required
- Minimum 3 years post-doctoral experience in the delivery of mental health treatment to children, adolescents, and adults
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered to meet the qualifications of this position
Other Requirements
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
- Current CPR/First Aid (or equivalent) certification
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance within Arizona
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
