Overview:
The Chichester School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator for a Special Education Teacher position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive instruction that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities. This position involves designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), utilizing best practices in differentiated instruction, and fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that align with students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Provide specialized instruction that supports students in accessing the general education curriculum.
- Utilize research-based strategies to differentiate instruction and promote student success.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure effective accommodations and modifications.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Implement behavioral and social-emotional interventions as needed to support student success.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations, including proper documentation and reporting.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster an inclusive and equitable classroom environment that values diversity and promotes positive student relationships.
Candidate Requirements:

Required Certifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education K-12, or Special Education 7-12 required.
- Additional certifications are a plus.
