The Kitchen (Back of House) Director is responsible for leading daily Back of House (BOH) operations. This self-motivated, disciplined, and enthusiastic leader must embody Chick-fil-A's core values, lead with a servant's heart, and have a growth mindset. The Kitchen Director is the subject matter expert (SME) for kitchen operations, food safety, and quality procedures. They will pursue operational excellence and continuous improvement by creating and implementing sustainable systems. Leading a Chick-fil-A restaurant's kitchen operation requires a leader that maintains a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and grit. The Kitchen Director must be capable of leveraging a strategic approach to driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement, talent development, and customer satisfaction. This individual will work closely with the restaurant's Owner/Operator and other key leaders to develop organizational goals, establish operating standards, create continuous improvement glidepaths, and foster an ideal workplace culture where all team members are capable of thriving.

Kitchen (Back of House) Director Responsibilities:
- Lead with Chick-fil-A's 5 Critical Success Factors - Embody the principles of Leadership, Talent Development, Financial Stewardship, Sales & Brand Growth, and Customer Experience.
- Guarantee Safe Food for Guests - Create a strong food safety culture by insisting on the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, completing safe daily critical assessments, and continuously training team members on food safety standards of excellence.
- Promote Food Quality Excellence - Complete daily eRQAs with kitchen leaders to continuously assess and improve food quality.
- Ensure Operational Efficiency - Work alongside Kitchen Managers and Shift Leaders to optimize operational systems and processes.
- Drive Guest and Team Member Satisfaction - Exceed expectations by implementing and upholding systems and policies that enhance both guest and employee experiences.
- Collaborate on Policy Creation - Partner with Directors and the Operator to establish policies and procedures aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and maintaining high standards.
- Manage Food Cost - Develop and implement sustainable systems that reduce food waste through effective training, standardization, and optimization.
- Enhance Customer Experience Metrics (CEMs) - Lead initiatives to improve customer experience through effective team leadership, training, and system implementation.
- Maintain Compliance with Third Party Inspections - Ensure adherence to policies and protocols required for successful health and food safety inspections.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Must successfully attain ServSafe Manager Certification.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching, and guiding a team to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Willing and able to coach, train, and develop others to grow the talent level throughout the restaurant.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively sharing Chick-fil-A’s vision, values, and expectations with leadership, team members, and guests.
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in managing guest feedback and resolving challenges to maintain the highest standards of hospitality.
- Flexible schedule with availability to open and close shifts, along with the adaptability to support peak business hours and special events.
- Committed to upholding safety, security, and sanitation standards to ensure the well-being of our team members and guests.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time in a fast-paced work environment.
