Who We Are Seeking: We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Skilled Laborer to join our team! In this role, you will perform both skilled and unskilled tasks that directly contribute to the successful completion of construction projects. As a member of our Facilities Department, you will assist with a variety of physical labor duties, including new construction, renovations, and maintenance projects. You will travel to job sites, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and sometimes work in small spaces, performing repetitive tasks. Your contributions will help us achieve the CVTC mission of "helping our citizens and community thrive."
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Certificates and Licenses: A valid Alaska Driver’s license and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy is a requirement of this position.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment.
Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction worker, laborer, or in a similar role is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a proven ability of meeting competing deadlines.
- Must be familiar with and adhere to safe work practices.
- Ability to lift and carry 50-80 lbs. at times.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as construction equipment.
- Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
