Description
The Senior Lending Officer is accountable for achieving commercial production goals, financial performance, market growth and customer satisfaction for the bank. Directs the market sales initiatives and community involvement. Ensure team adherence to bank policies, procedures, objectives, and practices. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
STATEMENT OF EXPECTATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages a team of employee(s) including hiring, training and employee development and performance management
- Update the bank’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) immediately as changes occur
- Executing the corporate business plan.
- Responsible for establishing sales goals and strategies, and periodically assessing performance against set goals.
- Responsible for staff hiring, development, coaching, performance management, recognition, and disciplinary actions.
- Representing the bank in the community by attending and supporting various community causes and activities.
- Planning and implementing local marketing activities to achieve corporate goals.
- Leading a community board to help achieve the bank's goals.
- Collaborating with product group associates to enhance client relationships.
- Responsible for the management of a staff comprised of various financial professionals.
- Responsible for customer recruitment, interaction, and retention.
- Responsible for independently managing a portfolio of business clients and is accountable for net client growth, risk management effectiveness, customer service and profitability. Ability to identify loan, deposits and fee income.
- Conduct interviews with customers to establish financial needs emphasizing financial counseling and lending, and process requests or will make appropriate referrals.
- Analyze credit and financial information for customers.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in decision making, abiding appropriately to established guidelines and procedures.
- Has the authority to approve or deny accounts.
- Lender is responsible at all times for the maintenance of the portfolio’s credit quality. This includes the proactive, early identification of deteriorating credits and the ongoing management of problem loans that remain in the portfolio.
- Ensure appropriate risk management and credit quality is meeting expectations with the assigned markets.
- Responsible for submission of the Commercial Lending budget for approval and the annual performance of Commercial Lending Department compared to budget.
- Responsible for overall production and profitability of the Commercial Lending Department.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Serve on various bank committees.
- Chair or Vice-Chair loan committees.
- Report to Board of Directors on monthly performance of market.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:
- Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or other related field required.
- A minimum of 10 years of banking experience.
