Optical Sorter Technician

Job Summary:

To service AG systems and promote sales to our AG customers for the purpose of walnut color sorting.

Essential Functions

1.      A complete understanding of the walnut sorting business

2.      Physical installations of our solutions

3.      Instruct personnel and customers on the physical and electronic attributes of these sorters

4.      Adjust in the field for optimum sorting conditions

5.      Service and Startup of sorters as well as trouble shooting

6.      Emergency service and support during harvest season

7.       Assembly of sorter enclosures

8.      Out-of-town work may be required

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

1.      Multiple years of experience in the sorting industry including the mechanical and physical concepts of walnut sorting

2.     Current, valid California Driver License; Meet company auto insurance coverage qualifications

Financial Responsibility and Authority:

1.      Authority to order equipment and materials for successful job completion

2.      Internal and External Business Contacts: Will be in contact with and working for our customers on project sites

Physical Job Description

Typical Working Conditions: Working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather – heat, cold, wet, changes in temperature and humidity

Equipment Used: Hand and power tools

Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs, push, pull, balance, walk, stoop, handle material, perform above shoulder work and overhead work, walking on uneven or slippery surfaces and drive company vehicles

Salary : $35 - $55
