The Carpenter/Laborer will be responsible for executing tasks that contribute to the successful completion of projects while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and repair structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Perform drywall installation and finishing to ensure smooth surfaces.
- Execute mold remediation tasks as required to maintain a safe environment.
- Install fixtures such as cabinets, countertops, and other built-in elements.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications.
- Assist in roof construction or repairs as needed.
- Apply plastering techniques for wall finishes and repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with various carpentry techniques including drywall installation, fixture installation, and mold remediation.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driver's license is a plus but not mandatory.
