PRN AGREEMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: PRN status allows employees the flexibility to pick up shifts with Safe Response without the commitment of a set schedule.
Responsible for performing a variety of para-professional tasks related to the care of individuals served by Safe Response. Essential job duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Safe Response’s Strategic Plan and requirements by licensure.
Requirements
- Adheres to parameters of the Agency’s budget, accurately reporting time and obtaining proper approval for overtime.
- Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Acts as a good steward of Safe Response and/or client finances.
- Works with clients, professional and other Para-professional staff, client’s families and the community in a courteous and respectful manner to provide proper habilitation.
- Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families and the community.
- Shows initiative by identifying solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction.
PRN AGREEMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: PRN status allows employees the flexibility to pick up shifts with Safe Response without the commitment of a set schedule.
- Employee must be employed at Safe Response at least 6 months, unless originally hired in as a PRN staff. In special situations, approval can be granted by the Program Director.
- Director must approve transfer into PRN status. Items like disciplinary action, etc. will be taken into consideration.
- Employee must provide a 2 week notice and complete scheduled shifts.
- Employee must have been employed for at least six months to receive a PTO payout. MAINTAINING PRN STATUS: In order to maintain employment, PRN staff must comply with the following licensure and Agency guidelines:
- Must work at least 1 shift (6-8 hours) with clients every pay period.
- Call in to report an absence or tardy four hours prior to the start of assigned shift. (Attendance policy will be applied)
- No more than one absence from a scheduled and accepted shift assignment in a 12 month rolling period.
- Employee is not approved to work more than 32 hours in a given work week. Overtime is not permitted.
- PRN employees are not eligible for insurance, retirement, or PTO benefits.
- Log into your Home Base account every week to ensure receipt of critical agency information. Examples of information that is communicated via Home Base and are the employee’s responsibility to remain compliant with, includes but is not limited to, the following: o Client needs o Behavior plans o Directions/training regarding processes and procedures o Annual TB Shot o Verbal de-escalation (TCI) o 1st Aid/CPR every two years o Universal Precautions annually o Nutrition and Sanitation annually o Medication Administration annually o Must complete the required annual trainings within each training period that begins on January 1st of each year and ends on December 31st of each year. Failure to complete the above requirements will result in termination of PRN employment with Safe Response. If your employment with Safe Response is terminated, you are eligible to re-apply for and rehire into any open position for which you are qualified after 90 days. However, you will not be eligible for rehire as PRN.
