Position Summary:
The Collections Analyst is responsible for managing the accounts receivable portfolio and ensuring timely collection of outstanding client invoices. This role plays a key part in maintaining the company’s cash flow and client relationships by professionally and efficiently handling all collection activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of client accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Proactively contact clients via phone, email, and written communication to follow up on past due invoices.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers and account leads, to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.
- Analyze aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and develop strategies for collection.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and collection efforts in the company’s ERP or CRM system.
- Assist in month-end closing processes by providing aging analysis, status updates, and other relevant reports.
- Recommend accounts for escalation, dispute resolution, or potential write-offs as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to collections and accounts receivable processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar finance function, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with time and billing systems common in professional services firms.
- Knowledge of client contracts and billing cycles specific to consulting, legal, or other service-based industries.
