Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment, and implementing effective safety programs. Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and EPA guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
- Provide training to employees on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.
- Manage workers' compensation claims in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety through training development and awareness programs.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in EHS regulations, workers' compensation law, and industry best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role or related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, first aid protocols, CPR techniques, and workers' compensation processes.
- Demonstrated ability in report writing and documentation related to EHS activities.
- Experience in conducting training sessions for staff on safety-related topics.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies to address safety concerns effectively.
