About Us : Chief Seattle Club is a culturally specific non-profit dedicated to addressing chronic homelessness among Native American and Alaska Native communities. We focus on providing emergency services, non-congregate shelter solutions, and supportive housing with an emphasis on affirming positive Native identity and creating Sacred space for the urban Native community in Seattle and King County.
Job Summary :
This position works directly with the Chief Traditional Officer to lead and oversee the Traditional Mental Health services program, ensuring the Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual health of the members and residents of Chief Seattle Club. This role will manage a team of Traditional Mental Health Workers while maintaining and strengthening Chief Seattle Club's foundation as a place grounded in Native culture that nurtures, affirms, and strengthens the spirit of urban Native people. The manager will develop and implement strategic initiatives, oversee program evaluation, and ensure the delivery of culturally appropriate mental health and wellness services.
Essential Job Functions :
- Supervise and provide leadership to Traditional Mental Health Workers, including regular supervision meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development support.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive traditional mental health programming, ensuring integration of cultural practices and trauma-informed approaches across all services.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, traditional healers, and mental health providers to expand service offerings and referral networks.
- Manage program budgets, including allocation of resources for traditional medicines, ceremonial supplies, and program activities.
- Establish and monitor program outcomes, including the development and implementation of culturally appropriate evaluation tools.
- Coordinate with other department managers to ensure integrated service delivery and cultural programming across the organization
- Lead the development and implementation of staff training on traditional practices, cultural competency, and trauma-informed care
- Oversee the documentation and preservation of traditional healing practices while maintaining appropriate cultural protocols and respecting sacred knowledge.
- Manage crisis response protocols and support staff in complex cases requiring higher-level intervention
- Ensure program compliance with relevant regulations while maintaining cultural integrity
- Report on program outcomes and impact to leadership and external stakeholders.
