Chiesi Global Rare Diseases division currently has an opening for a newly created role of Senior Data Scientist, reporting to the Director, Business Knowledge & Operations - Rare Disease.
The Sr. Data Scientist is responsible for the application of advanced analytics to claims datasets and the synthesis of insights. This role will leverage cutting edge data science technologies and methods to help business leaders across the company make appropriate data-driven decisions. The Sr. Data Scientist will play a key role in identifying opportunities for machine learning and will be an advocate for the power of data science. The role involves the full lifecycle from ideation to requirements elicitation, design, implementation, and rollout of solutions. The Sr. Data Scientist will collaborate with other stakeholders across the business to evaluate opportunities and drive growth for our brands.
This role is based in our office in Boston, MA office, with the flexibility to work from home. Candidates must be available to visit the Boston office as needed.
* Develop a deep understanding of available data sources, including data capture methodologies, sampling requirements, and descriptive statistics
* Implement advanced analytics in support of our commercial teams, including explorative applications of machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence
* Utilize machine learning to build predictive models for application in patient support programs
* Ability to build and fine tune algorithms that scale up from small-scale proof-of-concept stage to full production systems
* Develop automated capabilities which enable the application of machine learning across Company's portfolio of medicines
* Create insightful visualizations that can help a non-technical audience make sense of complex datasets
* Proactively identify business opportunities for leveraging data science data mining efforts to solve unmet medical needs; support the analysis of claims data to generate market insights
* Identify and shape business challenges and opportunities into analytical, data lead solutions, ranging from scoping and evaluating data opportunities to developing data-driven insights, data models and recommendations to fuel strategic growth
* Support ad hoc projects and tasks as needed
* 3 years' experience in predictive modeling, deploying algorithms in a production environment
* Hands on experience with data mining, its concepts, techniques, and implementation
* Track record of innovating through machine learning and statistical algorithms and their applications
* Experience in biotech / pharmaceuticals preferred
* Direct experience claims data analysis is a plus
* Knowledge and familiarity with deep learning and its use is a plus
* Expert at Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to manage multiple projects in an ambiguous environment with shifting priorities and time-pressure
* Ability to translate data analysis into actionable insights and strategy
* Excellent problem-solving capabilities
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written); proven ability to work cross functionally and liaise across a complex set of stakeholders
- BA/BS in Statistics, Operational Research, Computer Science, or other quantitative disciplin
