What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Child Adult Resource Services?
Experience working with MR/DD – preferred but not required. Exposure to community resources, classroom experience with emphasis on individualized instruction, basic first aid / health monitoring, nutrition and household management experience is preferred but not required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a safe driving record and hold a valid driver’s license
- Must have proof of auto insurance.
- Must be capable of occasional transferring and lifting of clients – if needed
- Must be capable of providing services in any setting, i.e. facility, community, vehicle, etc.
- Must obtain / maintain certification and be able to implement CPR & First Aid. Training is to be completed within 1 month of employment or earliest availability. (Provided and/or paid by C.A.R.S.)
- Must obtain / maintain certification and be able to implement NVCPI. Training is to be completed within 1 month of employment or earliest availability. (Provided and/or paid by C.A.R.S.)
- Must successfully complete Core A and Core B [dispensing medication] within 120 days of employment. (Provided and/or paid by C.A.R.S.)
- Must be free of communicable disease.
- Must not have any evidence of abuse or fraud in any setting
- Must not have been convicted of a violent crime or crime related to a dependent population
- Must not have repeated or substantial violations of applicable laws and rules in operation of any type of residential, health or developmental program in the care of dependent persons.
- Must be able to input data electronically utilizing an electronic data collection system.
- If applicable – Must be familiar with Microsoft Office programs
If applicable – Must have safe, dependable transportation with insurance
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
