Part Time Outpatient Mental Health Clinic Billing Specialist
General Statement of Responsibilities: To perform administrative duties related to clinic operations, including filing, data reporting, and billing, as well as other tasks as assigned, in accordance with the policies and standards set by the Board of Directors and relevant regulatory and funding bodies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or Business College Diploma or equivalent.
- Expertise with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other Microsoft products, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems, and medical billing and coding.
- High degree of skill and ability to learn new software products used in department functions.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with daily administrative operations of the Brighter Future Wellness Clinic.
- Maintain an up to date billing system for the Brighter Futures Wellness clinic and school-based clinics.
- Responsible for staff credentialing and re-credentialing with insurance and managed care companies.
- Responsible for client fee contracts, adjusting contracts, and collecting co-pay amounts.
- Continually updates any insurance changes in the EMR system in a timely manner.
- Assists with all billing co-pay transactions either over the phone or via the front desk, and answers all client billing statement questions.
- Works closely with the Director of Finance to ensure payments received and credited to the correct account
- Meets deadlines for data entry and extraction of data for reports and proposals.
- Maintains adequate copies of forms and files.
- Displays exceptional customer service skills and a courteous telephone manner in all interactions with the public.
Hours: 25 hours per week
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
