Location: This position is classified as hybrid with the AmeriCorps Coordinator working both from the YouthWork offices, as well as job sites and potentially around the state.
Job Summary: The AmeriCorps Coordinator is responsible for oversight of CFS’ AmeriCorps program. These duties include general program management, communications, outreach, compliance, fiscal, budget, and programmatic management. This position supervises a diverse array of staff, partners, and young adults to achieve program goals of providing a valuable workforce development program through the completion of skilled trades and environmental conservation service projects throughout Michigan.
Qualifications/Required Skills:
q Previous experience with AmeriCorps, nonprofit development and administration preferred.
q Must pass required criminal history background checks.
q Must possess a valid driver’s license.
q Must have the ability/willingness to work with diverse populations, differing lifestyles, and cultures.
q Understand and interact well with young adults and staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for soliciting, reporting on, and maintaining compliance with AmeriCorps and other grants.
· Provide direct supervision and support to the AmeriCorps staff including oversight of and assistance with:
o member support services including independent living skills and career preparation.
o compliant member files, background checks, and enrollments, suspensions, and exits.
o eGrants and OnCorps systems management
o supervision, training, and support of AmeriCorps members and staff including providing initial training/orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities; and accurate and timely submission of all necessary documentation including KPI reports, field reports, partner satisfaction evaluations, bi‐ weekly timesheets, credit card statements, expense reports, and data collection requirements.
· Collect high quality data that adequately measures YouthWork’s impact on communities and members served and regularly analyze data and processes through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices.
· Participate in the YouthWork strategic plan.
· Support the Program Director with fiscal management including budgeting, soliciting fees-for-service projects, grants, and other funding to support program operations, and developing and maintaining systems for accurate and efficient reporting and data collection.
· Act as a liaison between YouthWork, the AmeriCorps agency, MCSC, other CFS programs, and community partners
· Conduct occasional site visits, provide as needed, administrative and field support to crews, and regularly solicit feedback from YouthWork members and staff, providing training, assistance, and support as needed.
· Travel within Michigan and out of state for required site visits, meetings, events, trainings, and other activities as required by the program and its funders.
· Participate in all required MCSC meetings.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
