Job Summary
The Lead Family Service Worker plays a pivotal role in strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children. This position requires a unique blend of skills, including the ability to engage with families experiencing trauma, substance use disorders, mental health, domestic violence, and/or child abuse/neglect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) in collaboration with the Supervisor.
- Provide transportation and supervised visitation services in a safe setting between parents and their children in foster care.
- Offer role modeling and hands-on teaching instructions on parenting and household management with empathetic support and encouragement to families.
- Assist families in obtaining needed concrete services and establish participant, child, and foster parent rapport and trust.
- Maintain participant confidentiality, participate in program staff meetings, meet with the supervisor regularly, and attend training and other staff development activities.
Requirements:
- Up to and including high school education. Ability to understand and follow standard practice or oral and written instructions.
- Over two years of experience, up to and including four years.
- Valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract.
