Quality Mentor Coach - Denton

Provide on-site/remote mentoring to child care providers in order to maintain Licensing Minimum Standards and/or Texas Rising Star (TRS) certification standards in NCXT - Denton County.

• Become CLASS certified in infant, toddler and pre-school.  
• Coach teachers to improve teacher child interactions.  
•  Update records in Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) Engage and any defined systems.  
• On-board new facilities through Program Assessment Scale, Business Assessment Scale (BAS) and Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) and The Early Childhood Rating Scale (ECERS)  
• On-board new TRS facilities using the Facility Assessment Record form (FARF) and the Classroom Assessment Record Form (CARF)  
• Develops Continuous Quality Improvement Plans (CQIP) to assist Early Learning -Programs in setting goals to meet TRS quality standards, including but not limited to, understanding the TRS tool, understanding the value of teacher-child interactions, and providing resources and/or referrals for training, business support, and technical assistance where needed. 
• Acquires the required annual hours of professional development training as mandated by Texas Workforce Commission. 
• Maintains a connection to relevant Early Childhood Education practices and research. 
• Follow up on updates to W-9 annually  
• Quarterly Screenings for licensing deficiencies   
• Increased Star Level or National Accreditation status by providing on-going support through technical assistance, professional development, and modeling developmentally appropriate practices.  
• Maintain a in person or remote visit schedule to insure all TRS sites receive on-site/ remote visits regularly.  
•  Submit weekly reports to Supervisory staff detailing site / remote/face to face visits, successes and obstacles.  
• Develop instructional materials and provide instructional trainings on a monthly basis.  
• Recruit regulated providers and provide system building techniques in attaining TRS status.  
• Participate in community events as required.  
• Assist in ordering materials and resources through the Quality Initiatives program as needed for the TRS program.   
• Work with programs with deficiencies to develop systems that will make them eligible to become a quality facility  
•  Other duties as assigned.  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or equivalent related experience.  
• A minimum of 1 year experience in an early childhood setting 
• Previous experience  and proven ability in preparing and conducting training and developmental workshops for adults with effective results 
• Experience in/understanding of the provision for quality customer service 
• Ability to work independently and self‐motivate 
• Be an innovative change agent with the ability to think through new processes 
• Be conversant in best practices and research 
• Proven ability to consistently meet monthly project goals/deadlines 
• Possess the ability to start new projects and develop new policies and procedures 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey thoughts, ideas and concepts to others 
• Knowledge of computer software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel 
• Understanding of the NAEYC Accreditation process gained through experience or training 
• Must be able to pass a pre‐employment and/or periodic physical examination, TB skin test, and complete background check every 24 months. 
• Bilingual skills in English/Spanish preferred 
• Must have access to insured and reliable transportation 

• Adult training skills.  
• English-Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
