Child Care Associates (CCA), the largest child development nonprofit organization in North Texas, has served nearly 600,000 vulnerable young children and their families since 1968. Child Care Associates is a nonprofit of scale in the DFW region poised to help build a strong early childhood system, to partner with families and to build an early education infrastructure to help achieve outcomes at scale. NCTX is seeking a qualified Resource & Referral Specialist to fill a vacancy in Denton County.
Duties
This position provides and coordinates services and activities with families and communities that foster strength, healthy living, and overall well-being. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Maintaining a clear understanding of the Child Care Management Services (CCS) eligibility process, quality child care guidelines and policy changes.
· Provide support to families and children by serving as a liaison between families, staff, the community, and other family-related entities and services.
· Encouraging all families to be successful by providing added support for problem solving, offering soft-referrals to agencies, assisting with goal setting and extending additional resources.
· Building positive relationships based on mutual trust and rapport with families, community partners and the CCA team.
· Maintaining documentation of activities, attendees, follow-up and other pertinent information involving families requiring additional support services.
· Building trust and preserving the confidentiality of customers and employees requiring special services
· Promoting quality child care to families as wells as encouraging parental involvement in children’s schools and child care facilities.
· Assisting diverse families on the application process for additional services based on the need of the family.
· Developing and implement parent orientation classes, evidence-based parent education classes, and a social media campaign that provides information and builds skill-sets with parents on topics such as; CCS, high-quality childcare, parent choice when transitioning to Pre-K and K, and community events/resources.
· Researching and developing informational packet on family serving agencies, referral processes and contact information to share as family needs arise.
· Facilitating the delivery of services to children and families through collaboration with community partners. Regularly attend meetings and community events with partners.
· Actively connecting with available community services and participating in community resource planning and related work to foster strong partnerships.
· Providing immediate assistance to families in crisis. Maintain accurate, detailed records to document referrals and family progression.
· Supporting recruitment efforts of the CCS for families as needed.
· Involving CCS team in coordination of parent engagement activities and ensure all staff has pertinent information to share with families.
· Maintaining knowledge of the various programs under CCA umbrella to serve as contact point for families in need.
· Assisting in the development of a user-center design approach to ensure families and their experiences are at the center of our work
· Support families who may contact CCA or CCS for one service but receive information about other services through whichever entry point they begin at (“no wrong door”).
· Representing CCA and CCS at various community events conveying the company’s mission, values and vision while promoting the progress and needs of the company.

Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in a social services role including experience in working with limited income families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
· Previous management or administrative position with experience in developing, implementing, tracking and follow through to determine successful results.
· Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with families to identify needs, locate and refer services and solutions.
· Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
· Excellent organizational and research skills.
· Possess and maintain the necessary skill level in technology systems and software required to perform job duties.
· Access to reliable insured transportation.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, annual TB skin test, and complete background check every 24 months.
