Position Description : The Director of Financial Supports is responsible for leading CCAoMN's Financial Supports department. This position will set the strategic direction and oversee several programs that offer financial support to child care providers statewide. In addition, the Director is a key decision maker and contributor to the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan, and grant deliverables. This is a full-time position that supervises staff and reports to the Associate Director of Finance.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership and coordination of all Financial Supports programs : Set strategic direction and oversee all Financial Supports programs, including the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood MINNESOTA scholarship program, REETAIN bonuses, Child Development Associate (CDA) scholarship, Foreign Credential Evaluation (FCE) scholarships, and Great Start Compensation Support Payments (GSCSPP). Develop and maintain partnerships with other agencies and provider organizations to promote the above programs. Provide budget oversight and effectively manage department resources. Ensure internal controls for all scholarship / grant programs. Monitor statewide scholarship initiatives, track trends, and keep CCAoMN / DCYF abreast of opportunities and challenges regarding the Early Education field.
- Lead and supervise the Financial Supports department : Assign duties, delegate tasks, and direct employees to execute assigned job responsibilities and contract deliverables. Provide continuous feedback on employee performance, coach and provide training opportunities, and administer progressive discipline when needed. Communicate and implement organization priorities and guide work to enable the department to meet the organization's mission, vision, and strategic direction.
- Manage the partnership between the Financial Supports department and Department of Children, Youth and Family (DCYF) : Serve as the liaison between the Financial Supports department and DCYF. Meet regularly with DCYF counterparts to update on projects. Provide input and insights on projects and policies as requested by DCYF. Monitor and ensure contract workplans and deliverables are executed. Develop and distribute reports as needed.
- Support the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan, and anti-racism goals : Participate in activities and professional development opportunities. Assist Child Care Aware with implementing the organization’s strategic plans by embedding the goals into everyday work. Participate in professional development activities to strengthen your understanding and skills around diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. Encourage staff under your supervision to participate in additional DEI-AR activities and to support the mission of the organization.
