Position Description
The Equity and Inclusion Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director of Equity and Inclusion to coordinate the development and implementation of initiatives that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism (DEI-AR) across the organization and the Child Care Aware of Minnesota (CCA) system. This role is responsible for the overall coordination of the strategies and initiatives including partnering with staff, committees, and leadership to execute a DEI-AR workplan & activities, ensuring our policies and programs are embedded with equity, and documenting and communicating CCA’s DEI-AR growth and impact.
This role will find meaningful avenues to support employee advancement through their own DEI-AR journeys while supporting systemic changes. As such, this role requires high attention to detail, critical thinking, exceptional communication skills, heightened awareness of organizational impact and ability to manage multiple priorities. The most significant role is to connect, hear what isn’t being said, and respond with compassion to find a successful, inclusive path forward in all relationships, projects, and practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate Child Care Aware of Minnesota Coordinating Office’s diversity, equity, inclusion and anti- racism strategies, initiatives, workplans and activities.
· Execute DEI-AR work plans that meets the specific needs of CCA’s mission and strategic direction
· Use an equity lens and framework to review and make recommendations for CCA programs, policies and procedures
· Serve as a business resource for all departments and projects to ensure work aligns with the organization’s DEI-AR goals and strategic direction
· Track, evaluate impact and present CCA’s progress on our activities and provide recommendations to leadership and partners
2. Co-facilitate the CCA Access Ambassador’s Committee and coordinate the committee’s workplan activities. The Access Ambassador’s Committee operates to ensure that CCA staff throughout the system have the tools, knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to engage in appropriate conversations and promote equity within the system.
· Assist with the planning, scheduling and preparation of agendas and/or content for the committee meetings
· Serve as an active member and a subject matter expert for the committee
· Partner with committee members to help complete work plan activities, identify barriers and monitor and report progress
3. Monitor, organize, and facilitate DEI-AR learning opportunities for CCA and System staff to advance their understanding of issues of diversity, equity inclusion and anti-racism.
· Coordinate, plan, schedule, and monitor and host events, learning opportunities and shared spaces that will advance system goals towards a collective understanding of diversity, equity inclusion and anti-racism
· Co-facilitated DEI-AR learning opportunities, events, and community engagements that lead system towards more equitable practices
· Communicate updates, relevant content, and ongoing successes and developments to empower and engage
· Collect and report data on participation, learning growth, and opportunities for increased knowledge
· As needed, provide one-on-one coaching to teams who have expressed a desire to improve their own understanding of DEI and anti-racism
4. Support the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan, and anti-racism goals by participating in activities and professional development opportunities.
· Participate in staff meetings and as needed, participate in workgroups or task forces to assist with achieving the organization’s goals
· Implement the organization's strategic plans by embedding the goals into everyday work
· Participate in professional development activities to strengthen your understanding and skills around diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
Qualifications
· An Associates degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience or relevant diversity, equity and inclusion certification or training may substitute 1 year of experience
· Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and experience working cross-culturally
· Experience implementing practices around diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism, into systems, policies and procedures
· Demonstrated ability to identify, navigate, and address challenges associated with DEI and anti-racism work
· Strong project management and organizational skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills
· Ability to motivate, collaborate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups
· Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships

COMPETITIVE BENEFIT PACKAGE:
Compensation
Hiring range $43,617.60-$51,251.00 depending on qualifications plus an additional $2,000/year for lifestyle (pro-rated for part-time employees)
