Job Overview
- Child Care Council, Inc. is one of the CCR&R agencies in New York and is seeking to hire a Legally Exempt Enrollment Specialist at its main office in Rochester. Under the supervision of the Director of Legally Exempt Services will function as a member of Council’s team in providing the highest quality of service to our clients. The enrollment specialist services legally exempt child care providers who are caring for families that qualify for a child care subsidy and are receiving child care subsidy payments thru the local department of social services must complete an enrollment process. The enrollment specialist manages enrollment applications to ensure that the providers reach and maintain compliance with NYS Office of Children and Family Services Legally Exempt Child Care Health and Safety Requirements. The enrollment specialist monitors and supports providers to successfully comply with these requirements by providing excellent customer service through phone contact, face to face interactions, training opportunities and ongoing technical assistance to all customers
Job Responsibilities include:
· Can read, understand, interpret, and discuss proper implementation of the NYS Child Care regulations.
· High quality, diligent work ethic, in both attitude and productivity
· Extremely detail-oriented, strict attention to required NYS regulations
· Exemplary organizational and file/document maintenance skills
· Ability to work as part of a team but also self-reliant in initiating and completing work independently
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Capable of functioning calmly in stressful situations
· Comfortable meeting and working with new people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
· Excellent working knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher etc.
· Able to learn and function effectively with new computer programs and systems
· Ability, comfort, and willingness to work an occasional evening, early morning or Saturday
· Provide technical assistance and support to programs to promote the health and safety, and development of children in care.
· Engage with program staff to establish a professional working relationship and provide high-quality customer service.
· Communicate regularly with staff on program changes and updates.
· Conduct presentations and trainings for the provider community and staff as needed.
· Attend all department meetings, annual staff retreat, and other council sponsored events.
· Provide staff support for general agency work.
Requirements/Qualifications:
· BA/BS in Human Service, Social Work, Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field with 1-2 years experience working with children and families preferred.
· Associates degree in Human Service, Social Work, Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field with 3-5 years experience working with children and families.
· Preferred working knowledge of NYS Child Care Regulations.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Proficient computer skills.
· Commitment to quality customer service.
· Comfortable interacting with diverse cultures and social backgrounds.
· Clean driving record, daily use of a reliable vehicle, comfortable traveling through Monroe, Livingston, Wayne counties in all weather conditions.
· Capable of remaining calm in stressful situations and performing under the pressure of strict deadlines.
· Good time management skills, self-motivated, attention to details, and ability to multi-task.
· Positive and friendly approach when working with providers/customers.
· Works well in a team setting but able & willing to make independent decisions as needed.
