POSITION : Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant Lead

Base Salary Range : $62, 444.00-$73,463.00

Extended Salary Range : $62, 444.00- $99,175.00

FLSA Status : Exempt

REPORTS TO : Comprehensive Services Department Manager

OPPORTUNITY :

The role of the BrightSpark Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Lead is multifaceted, focusing on promotion, prevention, and intervention strategies. This position works collaboratively with our coaches and early childhood professionals to enhance their capabilities in fostering optimal social and emotional development. Through the development of individualized prevention strategies, addressing potential behavioral challenges to minimize expulsion. Overall, the BrightSpark Lead Mental Health Consultant plays an important role in cultivating a supportive and nurturing environment for children, families, and educators alike. With a strong emphasis on empathy and understanding, they strive to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and supported.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Oversees the Implementation of and Monitors the Delivery and Quality of Holding Hope IECMHC Services

  • Holds primary responsibility for leadership, supervision, and guidance for IECMHC service delivery in the region.
  • Provides first point of contact and triage for all incoming referrals, assigns cases, monitors / balances caseloads for MHCs, and provides case and service delivery guidance.
  • Provides individual and group reflective supervision / consultation and clinical guidance to a team of mental health consultants by program implementation guidance and contractual requirements.
  • Observes and / or supports the delivery of MHC service in the field; partners with and / or shadows MHCs on visits as appropriate.
  • Provide on-call clinical and reflective support to MHCs in response to critical or time-sensitive incidents in the field.
  • Creates an environment for the MHC team to operate in a respectful, collaborative, reflective manner.
  • Reviews MHC documentation of service delivery and ensures that data is maintained in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • In partnership with the CCA of WA IECMHC Director plans, develops, and provides onboarding and ongoing professional development for the MHCs.
  • Receives weekly (preferred, minimum bi-weekly) Individual Reflective Supervision with CCA of WA Director / Supervisor, participates in statewide IECMHC Team meetings, CCA of WA IECMHC program leadership / development meetings, and regional agency leadership meetings as needed.

IECMHC Service Delivery (as needed)

  • Depending upon caseload and regional needs, the IECMHC Supervisor may also provide virtual or on-site Mental Health Consultation services in child care / early learning settings by program Implementation Guidance, contractual requirements, and IECMHC Role and Responsibilities articulated above.
  • Holding Hope Program Development and Systems Support

  • Coordinates and meets regularly with CCA of WA IECMHC leadership to ensure an aligned approach to IECMHC service delivery across the state
  • In collaboration with the IECMHC Director and other Holding Hope Supervisor(s), develops and modifies policies and procedures for MHCs to implement program service goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with regional agency leadership regarding implementation of IECMHC and partnership with Coaches, trainers, and other staff serving child care providers.
  • Represent the IECMHC team at internal regional agency leadership meetings, and promote integration of IECMHC with other regional agency services and community partners.
  • Partners with regional staff to troubleshoot implementation issues, inform program and policy development, and document service needs and gaps.
  • In collaboration with the Regional Coordinator, Professional Development Coordinator, and CCA of WA Holding Hope team, assesses system professional development needs related to Infant Early Childhood Mental Health and other related content / resources for Early Achievers Coaches and others.
  • Researches, plans, and develops relevant training materials and resources to support the MHC work in promoting social / emotional development and prevention of expulsion and other exclusionary practices.
  • Collaborates with agency leadership to support partnership and integration of MHC, Coaching, and other services to providers.
  • Partners with regional MHCs and staff to provide training to individuals, small and large groups within the program, and / or for the larger community as needed and appropriate.
  • Maintains awareness of current professional resources, research, and developments in the field and shares pertinent information with the MHC team and broader field as appropriate.
  • Provides leadership for regional hiring / interviews for MHC positions and may also participate in interview panels for MHC candidates in other regions.
  • Collaborates with state, regional, and community partners regarding IECMHC service delivery as needed
  • Data, Reporting, and Evaluation

  • Ensures that regional IECMHC data is entered in a timely and accurate manner and supports MHCs on data and assessment / evaluation in partnership with the Data and Evaluation team at CCA of WA.
  • Reviews progress, data, and evaluation reports, and completes required reporting per program guidance and contract.
  • Participates in program evaluation planning and activities, in partnership with CCA of WA IECMHC Director, Data & Evaluation team, regional agency leaders and independent evaluators, and other partners as appropriate.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

    Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology or related credential

  • Full Licensed Mental Health Professional
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the field, 2 years of experience as a supervisor
  • Experience / training in Reflective Supervision / Consultation
  • Content knowledge in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health
  • Knowledge of / experience in IECMHC service delivery in Early Childhood settings
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Psychology, and clinical licensure
  • Approved Supervisor of Mental Health Professionals (Counselors, Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and / or Licensed Social Workers)
  • 5 years of Supervisory Experience of Mental Health Professionals
  • Experience working in early learning settings particularly 0-5 yrs old.
  • Ability to work occasional night and weekend hours.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with mission-focused communities, with an emphasis on Black and brown communities, including rural or urban Pierce County, tribal communities, immigrant communities, and / or military families.

  • Become a State Approved STARS trainer within 1yr.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to assist with deliverable and reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet monthly project goals.
  • Washington State Driver's License, automobile insurance, and access to a reliable automobile. This position is expected to travel across both counties and be available in all BrightSpark office locations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to cultural differences, with the ability to provide culturally responsive mental health services through the understanding of the impact of risk factors
  • Proficient problem-solving skills to identify barriers to mental health services and develop creative solutions to address them effectively

  • This is a full-time salaried position requiring work during BrightSpark Early Learning Services Business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 am-5 pm, and requires a willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
  • The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Base salary will be used when considering compensation for a new employee.

    Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position's qualifications, in addition to internal racial equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total compensation package.

    Other components of the total compensation package may include participation in group life, health and / or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program(s), paid time off, and paid holidays.

  • Hybrid positions at BrightSpark require at least two days in office per week. These days may change based on individual position and department needs.
