Child Development, Inc. (CDI) is actively seeking a new dedicated, empathetic, and mission driven individual to join our growing family support team as an ASSOCIATE FAMILY CHILD CARE COUNSELOR in San Jose, CA!
CDI's mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families, providing them the opportunity to build a better future. Our Choices for Children (CFC) program helps low-income families in Santa Clara County gain access to subsidized childcare and other community of support services while they work, look for employment, or improve their education.
Overview of what we are looking for:
An individual with a desire to work in a social services industry, supporting the children and families of Santa Clara County by providing support to families seeking or receiving child care assistance through the Alternative Payment Programs available in the county.
Some key deliverables:
- Interview families to determine their needs for child care services; assess, determine, and verify eligibility
- Enroll families into the Alternative Payment Programs in accordance with the CA Department of Social Services guidelines, i.e., Title V regulations/Funding Terms and Conditions
- Assess the needs for community services; provide information and refer families to services that support their stability
- Maintain family and/or provider files and keep information current
- Reporting, documentation, and special projects as needed by contracts and governing authorities
What you bring to the table:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in social work or community programs
- BS./B.A. with an emphasis in social work, social services, child development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with great attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer software and database management systems
- Multi-lingual and candidates with diverse experiences, values, ideas, backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives strongly encouraged and embraced
