Child Development, Inc. (CDI) is actively seeking a new dedicated, empathetic, and mission driven individual to join our growing compliance team as a Training and Compliance Specialist in San Jose, CA!
CDI's mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families, providing them the opportunity to build a better future. Our Choices for Children (CFC) program helps low-income families in Santa Clara County gain access to subsidized childcare and other community of support services while they work, look for employment, or improve their education.
Overview of what we are looking for:
An individual with a desire to work in a social services industry, supporting the company by developing and providing training for our Family Counselors in the Choices for Children program as well as auditing processes and files to ensure that the company is complying with relevant state/industry standards and regulations.
Some key deliverables:
- Develop and implement classroom, web-based and other training materials to educate and inform all Family Counselors - including new hires and current employees - on the policies, legal and regulatory requirements for the California Alternative Payment Program, and CalWORKs Stage 2 and CalWORKs Stage 3 contracts
- Prepare and coordinate presentations and hybrid training on topics related to California Alternative Payment Program, CalWORKs Stage 2 and CalWORKs Stage 3 contracts and case files compliance
- Conduct regular, random audits of the case files, procedures, and processes, making recommendations for “best practices” process improvements to ensure efficient management of family case files, and more consistent regulatory compliance
- Investigate complaints and identify risks related to potential cases of possible fraud and misrepresentation
- Prepare reports and summary information on training and audit results for management
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience - especially in the social services sector
- Fluent in the policies, legal, and regulatory requirements for the California Alternative Payment Program, and CalWORKs Stage 2 and CalWORKs Stage 3 contracts
- Proficiency in the use of modern business operating systems
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with clients and employees
