Assistant Director

Child Evangelism Fellowship (San Luis Obispo Chapter)

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is a worldwide ministry reaching over 30 million elementary school age children. The San Luis Obispo Chapter has Good News Clubs® in 30 schools reaching over 400 students using over 200 volunteers. This position is necessary to help achieve our vision of reaching 77 schools with over 400 volunteers. The San Luis Obispo Chapter has been reaching children for over 70 years and has a solid base of experienced volunteers. The recent addition of Northern Santa Barbara County (Santa Maria area) has more than doubled the number of schools and students available to be reached by this ministry.

Position Overview

The primary responsibility is to perform all the duties of the director including: Recruiting and training volunteers to share the Gospel Message with elementary age children on the Central Coast of California. Additional duties will include directing Camp Good News® in the summer and conducting open-air ministries through out the county to share the Gospel Message with the general public and enhance the visibility of Good News Clubs throughout the county. Additional duties will include fund raising and recruiting events to support the ministry, nurturing relationships with Churches and Schools to achieve ministry goals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train and support volunteers to run Good News Clubs, Summer Camps and Open Air Ministries.
• Develop relationships with Youth Pastors and staff in all major churches.
• Ensure administrative systems are in place to facilitate communication with volunteers, donors and the community.
• Develop strategies and methods to recruit and retain volunteers needed to support doubling the volunteer team.

• Ability to train and encourage outreach and evangelism
• Desire to raise up leaders through discipleship and mentorship

• Adherence to the Child Evangelism Fellowship Statement of Faith

Hours & Salary

Full-Time, 40 hrs./week

Compensation: $55,000 to $70,000; commensurate with experience.
