Summary Of Essential Job Functions
Essential job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the day-to-day administrative functions in human resources.
- Maintains the benefits administration system and payroll records to include new employee data, data changes, and terminations. Compiles reports as needed.
- Performs benefits coordination including the enrollment process, change reporting, billing reconciliation, and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Conducts new hire orientations.
- Manages FMLA leave requests and documentation.
- Responds to employment verification requests.
- Acts as liaison between agency staff and the Chief Administrative Officer as needed.
- Schedules and coordinates meetings and events including notification of attendees, securing facilities, and ordering food and supplies.
- Prepares and distributes agendas, materials, and minutes for Program Director and staff meetings.
- Participates in developing and achieving department goals and objectives.
- Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as needed.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning employment.
- Monitors, responds to, and distributes incoming communications in a timely manner including HR Inbox.
- Develops and carries out an efficient documentation and filing system.
- Assists with special projects as needed.
- Interacts with external clients as well as internal staff at all levels.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience, or an Associate’s degree and equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
- Working knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, particularly in benefits administration, payroll, FMLA, wage and hour laws, and relevant federal, state, and local laws.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, payroll systems, and benefit administration or human resources information systems. Paycom experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exercises discretion in acquiring and disseminating confidential and proprietary information.
- Ability to problem solve, interpret instructions from diverse individuals and recommend solutions.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to support and implement department projects, policies, goals, and objectives.
- Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level One fingerprint card.
- Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures including confidentiality, employee conduct, computer usage, and dress code.
- Meet program/department’s performance and productivity standards.
- Attend required agency and program/department meetings.
- Adhere to the schedule agreed upon with the supervisor.
- Follow and model CFR’s core values.
- Participate in PQI initiatives.
- Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, and vehicle and meet agency liability insurance requirements.

- Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances.
- Moderate twisting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties.
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced.
- Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are required.
- Repeated hand-wrist movement is required.
- The Pay Rate for this position starts at $19.25-$21.00 per hour.
