The Trafficked Youth Case Manager is a member of our Human Trafficking Youth Services team and provides advocacy and case management services to minor survivors of human trafficking and those that are at risk of being trafficked within the Western New York community. Services provided to youth include victim advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, service assessments, and coordination of support services and are provided both at agency and community locations.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Provide in-person and telephone comprehensive client needs and risk assessments, safety planning, brief counseling, crisis intervention, and on-going case management services;
  • Provide outreach visits to clients when needed;
  • Provide advocacy and/or court accompaniment in the criminal and/or civil legal systems;
  • Provide information and assistance with the linkage to the shelter and other community resources;
  • Ensure that all survivors understand their rights as victims of crime and facilitate application to associated status and benefits including NYS Office of Victim Services applications, NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance referrals, and federal certification and/or eligibility;
  • Engage in collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, including local law enforcement partners, Erie County Department of Social Services, local youth providers, or any other relevant parties;
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision, and staff development and trainings as required;
  • Model and practice sensitivity, fair treatment, trauma-informed care, and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions;
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Must maintain and submit required documents and comply with all aspects of the Vehicle and Safety Usage Policy;
  • Utilize agency and IT systems according to agency protocol; and
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Competitive Pay Rate of $20.67 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) or equivalent education and experience required, with at least two (2) years paid professional experience preferred;
  • Bi-lingual skills (Spanish-English) preferred;
  • NYS driver's license and continued automobile insurance;
  • Professional human traf f icking experience preferred;
  • Strong writing and data entry skills; and
  • Prof icient at utilizing computer, cloud and web-based programs, and MS office
