About the Role: A Direct Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the lives of young adults aged 17-25 by helping them navigate the challenges of emotional, behavioral, and mental health struggles. This role involves providing guidance, support, and mentorship in both home and community settings.Direct Support Specialists work closely with the young adults to develop personalized plans that address their unique needs and goals. This may include teaching coping skills for managing emotions and stress, assisting with daily living activities such as budgeting and meal planning, and facilitating access to community resources like support groups, social activities, and connection to hobbies/interests. Additionally, Direct Support Specialists help young adults build social skills and develop healthy relationships, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.The ultimate goal of a Direct Support Specialist is to empower young adults to overcome obstacles, gain confidence, and successfully transition to independent living. This involves working collaboratively with young adults, their families, and other professionals to create a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes growth and well-being.

Who You Are:
- Experienced in behavioral health, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Passionate about working with young adults facing life’s challenges
- A strong communicator with excellent problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in homes and communities

Education/Experience Needed:
- High school diploma or GED (a related bachelor's degree preferred but not required).
- At least one year of experience working with children or young adults with behavioral and emotional challenges.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with an acceptable 39 month driving record
- Reliable transportation, including proof of Insurance.
- Candidates are required to submit a negative drug test
- Obtain an Arizona DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Complete Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and First Aid training
Compensation: $18.50/hr - $20/hr
