About Your Team
Your team works with young adults aged 17-20 years old, who are aging out of the child welfare system, to assist in developing skills needed to lead successful and independent lives.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will be working under the Director of Residential Services Programs to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Independent Living Program and Independent Living Program for Pregnant & Parenting Teens to ensure program compliance, and training of current and new staff. 

Your Main Priorities
While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily:
•    Provides supervision to the Youth Support Specialists to assist young adults and young parents (i.e., connects clients to other community resources, develops and maintains positive and professional relationships with relators, landlords, and public housing authorities.
•    Assists clients to identify a sustainable budget, understand how to read and interpret documents, obtain personal documentation for housing applications (i.e., valid ID, birth certificate, etc.). 
•    Attend client team meetings to support youth plans. 
•    Assist clients with access to housing resources, search for housing, complete rental applications, review lease agreements, and understand tenant rights and responsibilities. 
•    Identifies permanent housing options for clients such as subsidized housing and Section 8. 
•    Works with key stakeholders, including DCYF to provide necessary support to youth aging out of state care system. 
•    Works in tandem with the Life Skills Coach and Housing Specialist to ensure client and family needs are met, and any barriers are addressed. 

Who You Are
Requirements, Skills & Abilities:
•    Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required. 
•    Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family dynamics, adult learning techniques and child protection required.
•    Minimum 1 year supervisor or project management experience preferred.
•    Experience working with a diverse population of youth and young adults a plus. 
•    Bilingual in Spanish preferred. 
•    Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.
•    Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
•    Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
•    Collaboration and teamwork. 
•    Leadership. 
•    Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and car registration. 
•    Must authorize Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check. 
•    The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position. 

Physical Requirements
Direct Service Staff (Travel as part of position):
This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying and lifting up to 25lbs. This role also requires operating desktop, laptop and/or cell phone, and communicating with colleagues. 

Travel Requirements
Site location: Providence
Statewide travel required.
