About the Role: Child Inc. is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Professional Development Coordinator to support the growth and development of our dedicated team. This role ensures that all employees meet necessary educational qualifications and training requirements at the federal and state levels. The coordinator will be responsible for planning and organizing training events, maintaining records, and guiding employees and managers on training needs. Key Responsibilities:
Staff Qualifications & Training
- Design and implement a comprehensive professional development program for all staff.
- Ensure new employees complete a timely Pre-Service Employee Orientation.
- Partner with the Education Coordinator to meet Head Start and State Licensing training requirements.
- Assist employees with college registration, admission processes, and degree plans.
Training & Technical Assistance (T/TA)
- Develop and maintain an agency-wide training and technical assistance plan.
- Coordinate training events, including scheduling, materials, locations, and presenters.
- Manage invoices and track payments for professional development programs.
- Arrange hands-on training sessions and secure expert consultants/trainers as needed.
- Develop and maintain T/TA policies and procedures for efficiency.
Professional Development & Compliance
- Track and analyze staff training participation using Child Plus software.
- Maintain and distribute information on relevant workshops, conferences, and seminars.
- Assist employees and supervisors in creating Individual Professional Development Plans (IPDP).
- Monitor staff education progress and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with colleges, universities, and community organizations to enhance training opportunities.
Operations & Administration
- Assist the Quality Assurance Director in developing the T/TA budget.
- Manage confidential employee professional development records.
- Prepare required reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with Child Inc. personnel policies, OHS guidelines, and professional standards.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of two years of experience in professional development or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Ability to travel locally and attend overnight training as needed.
- Valid driver's license and insured vehicle.
- Must pass all criminal history background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and professional development best practices.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with travel required for training events.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.
