Child Justice, Inc. is seeking a Paralegal to join our team and play a vital role in supporting complex family law litigation and client services.
✔️ Work on high-impact family law cases involving protective orders, custody disputes, and child advocacy
✔️ Be part of a collaborative legal team dedicated to protecting children from abuse
✔️ Engage in client-centered legal support from intake through post-trial actions
✔️ Gain experience in legal research, document preparation, and litigation support
✔️ Work in a mission-driven nonprofit where your contributions truly matter
🔹 Assist attorneys in case preparation, document review, and trial support
🔹 Conduct client interviews, gather evidence, and summarize case files
🔹 Manage legal calendars, deadlines, and case management systems (e.g., Clio, MDEC)
🔹 Draft legal documents, correspondence, and discovery materials
🔹 File legal documents with courts and maintain case file organization
🔹 Help clients access non-litigation resources and referrals
🔹 Engage in legal education and outreach efforts
✅ Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent legal experience
✅ Experience in family law, domestic violence, or legal services preferred
✅ Strong legal research, writing, and document management skills
✅ Excellent client service and interpersonal communication skills
✅ Ability to prioritize multiple cases, meet deadlines, and work independently
✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, Dropbox, CLIO, MDEC, or similar legal software
✅ Commitment to serving survivors of interpersonal violence and child abuse
