Center Aide

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to support our team in providing exceptional care and educational experiences for children, particularly those with special needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in childcare, classroom management, and curriculum development, with a passion for working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities and autism. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and tidy areas of the classroom and Aid the teachers that are teaching.
• Assist in the implementation of educational programs and activities tailored for preschool-aged children and older.
• Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured environment conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to educators as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration.

Experience

• Previous experience in childcare or educational settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for working with children on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in math and classroom management are beneficial.
• Experience in curriculum development is an asset.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both children and adults.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all students.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.5 – 40 per week
