Interview Process
In addition to a formal interview, candidates may be invited to spend time in the classroom. This hands-on observation provides an opportunity to experience our routine, the children, and the center's atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Teacher will manage the care and safety of children, collaborate with other staff, and ensure compliance with state licensing regulations. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Write and distribute monthly classroom newsletters to parents.
- Observe and record children's milestones and behaviors.
- Maintain and update individual children's portfolios.
- Lead bi-annual parent-teacher conferences to discuss children's progress.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have completed the certificates for Introduction to the Childcare Profession and Skills and Strategies for the Childcare Profession or equivalent coursework.
- Previous experience in licensed childcare is preferred.
