Overview

Position Summary
Our center is seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Teacher who will provide children with a safe learning environment that offers diverse and age-appropriate experiences that individualize and promote their development. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and social development.
As a preschool teacher, you will:
- Maintain classroom and related equipment safely and hygienically
- Uphold all safety standards.
- Maintain a professional attitude, respecting family privacy at all times.
- Encourage children to participate in all activities
- Communicate with parents as needed to address progress/challenges.
- Distribute meals (prepared by cook) to children.
- Follow classroom curriculums and schedules for children.
- Support your center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Occasionally fulfill the role of a floater or breaker in a classroom.
Required Skills/Experience
- Must be able to pass a portable background check (DCYF) and TB test
- Current CPR, First Aid/HIV, Bloodborne Pathogens, and food handler’s certifications
- Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a MUST.
- Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and/or standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be registered with MERIT (DCYF) and have a STARS ID Number
- Required Education/Certification:
- High school diploma/Equivalent (required)
- Initial and Short ECE Stackable certificates or AA/AA-S in Early Childhood Education (required)
- 30 hours STARS Childcare Basics (required)

Shift:
Monday-Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM
Wage: $16.75-$22 hourly (based on credentials and experience)
