Key Responsibilities
Child-Centered Learning
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities tailored to the needs of infants and toddlers using research-based practices.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes curiosity, exploration, and learning.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments to document each child's growth and adjust strategies as needed.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with families, involving them in all aspects of their child's development and education.
- Work with parents to identify long- and short-term goals for their children, offering resources and support to achieve them.
- Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, providing guidance and encouragement.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized learning environment that adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Respond to the needs of infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting, in a nurturing and respectful manner.
- Follow emergency preparedness and safety protocols.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Collaborate with colleagues and program staff to ensure cohesive support for children and families.
- Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and a positive attitude in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Keep accurate records, including attendance, assessments, and other documentation required by the program.
- Ensure compliance with all Early Head Start performance standards, licensing regulations, and organizational policies.
We welcome diverse candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field, or
- Current National, or Texas based CDA (Infant), or
- A minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education/Child Development AND must be willing and able to obtain a CDA within 6 months of hire.
- Positive, motivating, and energetic personality with a passion for working with young children.
- Ability to become certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to pass all criminal history background checks.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are a plus but not required.
