Position Title: Full Day Teacher Schedule: 40 hours a week/44 weeks a year
Supervisor: Education Manager Starting Rate: $18.77 - $19.56/hour

FSLA: Non-Exempt/Union

Summary Job Description:

Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a developmentally appropriate program for a
group of 16-18 preschool-aged children. Creates a healthy and safe learning environment. Assists
children with improving self-confidence and social skills. Promotes intellectual and physical growth.
Encourages parents in educational activities, and attends parent meetings. Maintains timely records
and follows Head Start Policy and Procedures. Attends scheduled meetings and trainings. Works
cooperatively with others. Observes and document children’s behavior and development. Adheres to a
strict confidentiality policy.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Training

Required: Teachers must have at least an Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early
Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. One year of
experience working with children in Head Start, day care, or preschool setting.
