ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Job Summary: This position provides support to Kinship Licensing Specialists and the Kinship Caregivers we serve.
The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.
- Travel to and conduct home visits to Kinship Caregivers to assess child safety, case permanency and well-being.
- Educate Kinship Caregivers about available resources to meet the needs of the children they are raising, in addition to their own needs as caregivers.
- Direct caregivers to required training for Level 1 licensure.
- Provide support to level one relative and non-relative placements.
- Foster and maintain collaborative working relationships and rapport with Kinship Caregivers.
- Attend and participate in staffings to identify the support and services needed.
- Document by entering all case related activities into the Statewide Child Welfare Information System.
- Actively collaborate with the Kinship Licensing Specialists to support successful licensure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/ Requirements
Years of Experience:
- One (1) year of Kinship or Child Welfare caregiver experience preferred
- One (1) year experience in Microsoft Office Suite to include, outlook, excel & word
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in social work/human services or equivalent preferred
- Valid Florida state issued driver’s license and insurance required
