ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Job Summary: This position coordinates the needs of children with chronic /complex medical issues in ChildNet’s care in cooperation with the medical coordination unit, case managers, foster parents, and congregate care providers.

- Guide intake and placement decisions by screening medically complex children upon entrance to ChildNet care. Provide guidance to Intake staff in obtaining medical history from parents and medical providers.
- Assist caregivers in identifying medical specialists, scheduling appointments, and following physician’s recommendations for care. Provide medical care training and support to foster parents, including obtaining medical equipment and supplies.
- Act as a liaison between medical professionals and caregivers.
- Audit case files quarterly to ensure children receive necessary medical care and documentation is completed. Submit referrals to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Maintain accurate records of all children with a medical diagnosis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/ Requirements:
Years of Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in Nursing preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
