ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Parent Partner for our IFCCS & Wraparound Services program located in Long Beach, CA.

ChildNet IFCCS/Wraparound Support Services is an intensive, family-centered, strength-based, community-based, individualized intensive program that promotes resiliency, well-being, and positive quality of life in a safe, stable, and caring home. The Parent Partner role will be assigned high-risk youth and work in the community by coordinating services needed to meet the needs of assigned IFCCS clients and their families.

Example Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strength-based philosophy (e.g., a family-centered, strength-based, needs-driven planning and service delivery process serving high-risk youth and their families).
  • Participate in the Child and Family Team. Ensure the application of family-centered practice by the whole team and meet the 4-step CFT model.
  • Maintain an active caseload (assisting Care Coordinators); provide supervision of assigned clients as needed. Participate in the 24-hour/7 days-a-week on-call system to ensure families can access support during times of need.
  • Assist the Care Coordinator by providing direct services weekly to the client and family as identified in IFCCS Matrix and treatment plan. Work directly with assigned children and their families in their respective environments, including in-home/out-of-home placements and in their respective communities as identified in the Matrix and treatment plan. Advocate for youth and families within their respective communities. (e.g., attend IEP meetings, court hearings, etc.).
  • Coordinate and organize formal and informal support to partner with families and lead to a plan that is permanent in the community.
  • Understand and abide by the Integrated Core Practice Model (ICPM). Utilize the Integrated Care Coordination (ICC) and In-Home Behavior Support (IHBS) interventions and services.
  • Participate in required training. Seek assistance and advice when appropriate.
  • Complete all required reports and documentation in accordance with county obligations and ensure integrity of all documentation.
  • Coordinate and organize quarterly Parent/Caregiver Support Groups.
  • Abide by ChildNet policies and procedures.
  • Transport clients when required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or GED).
  • Must have been or must be the parent or primary caregiver (not foster/resource parent) of a child who received/receives services from one of the following county departments: DMH, Probation, DCFS, and/or Regional Center; AND
  • At the time of hire, must no longer have an open case with either the Probation Department or DCFS.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge/skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, and other required software.
  • Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish is preferred, but not required.

All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A criminal background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. An essential function of this position does require driving. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
