What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler After School Community Lead position at Childpeace Montessori School?
Childpeace Montessori School is seeking a Toddler After School Community Lead. The Toddler After School Community Lead position is hourly, non-exempt, working from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Our ideal Toddler After School Community Lead candidate has an AMI Assistants to Infancy diploma and experience working with children 14 months to 3 years old. This position is a wonderful opportunity, also, for someone working towards their AMI diploma. The Toddler After School Community Lead collaborates with our two highly experienced Toddler Community Guides in order to meet the children's needs in the mid- to late-afternoon hours. The Toddler After School Community Lead is responsible for:
• Planning and presenting activities for children enrolled in the aftercare program
• Playground supervision
• Support of individual children
• Preparation and maintenance of the aftercare environment
We are looking for candidates who:
• enjoy being with 1- and 2-year-olds
• are consistent and calm
• are eager to learn from a Montessori-trained lead teacher
• enjoy detailed preparations of the room for the safety and engagement of the children
This is not a benefit eligible position.
Childpeace Montessori School is the only AMI recognized school to offer toddler, primary and elementary programs in one convenient downtown Portland location. We also have a middle school program operating adjacent to our Northwest campus. The majority of our administrative staff work out of our main downtown campus in a convenient spot for coffee, urban parks, and beautiful walking trails.
