SUMMARY
Provide assessment, planning, connecting, referrals, advocacy, and other services to children being matched with adoptive families or families for permanent guardianship. Following Wendy's Wonderful Kids, evidence-based child-focused recruitment model to find the right family for each child.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Child/Youth work includes:
• Complete Adoption Readiness Assessment
• Complete monthly in-person meetings
• Attend team meetings
• Complete Recruitment Plan
• Complete file review
• Coordinate with prospective adoptive or guardianship families
o Once matched, coordinate pre-joining meetings
o Assist with the transition plan for the youth to the matched family
• Coordinate with team members
• Complete internet searches
General Requirements:
- Provide assessment, planning, referrals, advocacy, and collateral contacts.
- Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency, state accreditation and other requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Testify at court hearings as necessary.
- Participate in regular peer review, individual supervision, and clinical consultation as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with the agency and community.
- Plan, design, and present educational programs as appropriate.
- Participates in training
- Maintain agency standards regarding confidentiality, quality, and productivity.
- Serve on staff committees as assigned and/or approved.
- Travel primarily within Kent County; however, some travel may be needed to work with families in Sussex County. Access to an agency vehicles are available and milage reimbursement offered when driving personal vehicle.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or a related human service field with experience, required.
- Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.
- Previous job or student placement experience in the field of Foster Care and Adoption/child welfare. family serving agency, or community-based agency.
- Flexibility with respect to work assignments in accordance with agency needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- God time management and organizational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Teams.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier.
