The impactful work you'll be doing:
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to youth; participate in training and community-building activities.
- Mentor youth involved in the Juvenile Justice system
- Develop and track goal achievement plans with youth.
- Follow referral processes as outlined in the grant.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to mandated reporting requirements.
- Conduct weekly home visits and provide support at home or school.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of required data.
- Offer crisis support as needed.
- Contact referred youth within 5 business days of receiving a referral.
- Build positive relationships with QRTPs, State Training Schools, and other residential facilities to support reentry planning.
- Bring prior experience with the Juvenile Justice system, Criminal Justice system, or lived experience.
- Stay informed about community resources and attend local meetings to learn about available services for youth.
- Participate in local, county, and statewide meetings, and collaborate with Juvenile Court Services (JCS) in the 7th Judicial District.
- Complete required paperwork, enter data, and assist with grant reporting.

Requirements
Credible Messengers must meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Lived experience with the Juvenile Justice system, Criminal Justice system, and/or personal lived experience.
- Experience with data collection and data entry.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Provide mentorship to other Credible Messengers and a willingness to undergo required training.
Strong writing skills are essential, with experience in writing court reports and testifying in court.
