About the Opportunity
Interested current community / junior college, undergraduate, and graduate school students are invited to apply to be a Children’s Movement Equity Fellow (learn more from 2024 Fellows cohort here) at Children Now. Fellows will support the growth of The Children’s Movement by recruiting groups statewide to join our Pro-Kid network and engaging current members to advocate for kids by supporting legislative, regulatory, and state budget advocacy efforts. Fellows will gain experience in network development through data-driven on-line recruitment, while also learning about how The Children’s Movement supports statewide advocacy and student leadership.
In addition to their critical work with The Children’s Movement, Fellows have the opportunity to cross-collaborate with other teams at Children Now. Fellows are given opportunities to attend meetings with and learn from policy experts about various children’s issues such as health, education, and child welfare. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their network with leading child policy experts and learning about public policymaking, outreach, advocacy, communications, and nonprofit organizations.
Fellows will work remotely for approximately 30 hours per week from 9am to 5pm (including a lunch break) for 8 weeks (June 23rd through August 14th) and will be paid $18 per hour. Applicants are required to reside in California during the duration of the program.
