What are the responsibilities and job description for the E-learning Developer position at Children of America?
Children of America is seeking an experienced eLearning developer to create high-quality, interactive e-learning materials that will reach 60 educational childcare locations. A minimum of five years of e-learning and instructional design experience is required with a diverse Articulate Storyline 360 portfolio. Strong communication, customization, photo and video editing skills, and UX design skills are necessary for success.
Job Duties:
- Develop high-quality, interactive HTML5 materials for e-Learning program development, including photos, videos, 360 walk-throughs, diagrams, exercises, assessments, etc.
- Collaborate with project leads, content writers, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to deliver cutting-edge e-learning and course content.
- Create and/or redesign PowerPoint-formatted training content or storyboards into interactive e-learning modules.
- Ensure consistency of content across all training materials.
- Align developed content with branding standards.
- Ensure content is simple, concise, clear, and appropriate for the training audience.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 5 years of experience with e-learning development and instructional design
- Portfolio with diverse examples demonstrating different functionalities of Articulate Storyline 360, such as interactive simulations, branching scenarios, drag-and-drop activities, gamification elements, adaptive learning paths, and multimedia integration
- Articulate Certified Training, Certified Instructional Designer/Developer (CIDD), or other related professional certification preferred.
Job Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for subject matter interviews, content development, storyboarding, collaboration, coaching, giving peer review feedback, and facilitating effective meetings.
- Ability to customize e-learning design and user interfaces beyond the default templates including creating custom player skins, navigation controls, and interactive elements tailored to specific project requirements.
- Adhere to accessibility standards (such as WCAG guidelines) and demonstrate responsive design principles to ensure optimal viewing across different devices and screen sizes.
- Intermediate photo and video editing skills preferred.
- Proficiency in scripting and leveraging advanced interactions using JavaScript triggers and variables including custom functionality, calculations, and conditional logic to enhance user engagement and interactivity.
- Strong understanding of UX design principles and applying them effectively to create intuitive, user-friendly e-learning experiences by prioritizing user engagement, navigation ease, and clear instructional design
- Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Time management and organization skills necessary to meet deadlines
