Overview :
We at Thrive Center are actively seeking passionate and dedicated therapists in Speech-Language Pathology for hybrid opportunities during the hours of 8 : 00am-4 : 00pm.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development, ensuring they have the necessary skills to excel academically and socially.
Responsibilities :
1. Assessment and Evaluation :
Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to gather relevant information for assessments.
Interpret assessment results and communicate findings to parents, teachers, and relevant team members.
2. Individualized Intervention :
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language goals.
Provide direct therapy services to students with various communication disorders.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate speech and language goals into the academic curriculum.
3. Collaboration and Consultation :
Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support students in inclusive classrooms.
Provide consultation to teachers and parents on strategies to enhance communication skills in various settings.
Attend and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
4. Documentation and Reporting :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Prepare detailed reports for IEP meetings and other relevant conferences.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding documentation and reporting.
5. Professional Development :
Stay current with research and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Foster a culture of continuous learning within the school community.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology.
New York State Teaching Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to adapt intervention strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
