What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida?
Job Duties :
- Applies knowledge of accounting principles on a regular basis
- Owns Accounts Receivable workstream : prepares funder monthly billings including follow-up from invoice to collection
- Maintains billing summary spreadsheet tracker, participates in management discussion to realize 100% of contract awards
- Generates management reports for grant applications and monitors program and grant spending.
- Owns Accounts Payable workstream : processing A / P with attention to allocating all invoices to the appropriate program and payer or grantor.
- Owns Cash Receipts workstream : posting cash receipts to appropriate program and provider, special event, etc.
- Oversees all deposits, maintains cash and check deposit log
- Owns Bank Accounts Reconciliation workstream to ensure zero out-of-balance at month-end
- Maintains General Ledger accounts and corresponding reconciliations to the G / L
- Creates and maintains supporting spreadsheets for Projects such as fundraising events, with the goal to improve information for decision making and planning for the Development Director
- Reviews 401(k) contributions processing and accounts for the Plan year-end close
- Process Employee Expense Reports
- Organizes and maintains file systems; files correspondence and other records, including uploads to the accounting system; makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials as necessary
Education an d / or Work Experience Requirements :
Must pass a Level II Background Check.
