What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator position at Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass?
The Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass seeks a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator to coordinate county-specific teams, facilitate ongoing team communication and case review meetings between members of the Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass staff, law enforcement officials, Cabinet for Health and Family Service representatives, prosecuting attorneys and other community partners. The multi-disciplinary team model is based on the belief that the various agencies and departments responsible for the protection of children must be united in a collaborative effort and that only by working as a multidisciplinary team can we effectively respond to child abuse.
Job Duties:
- Establish and maintain open communication and healthy relationships with all partner agency representatives
- Facilitate dialogue with MDT partners related to identification of cases in need of services and coordinate services with the MDT partners establishing strong support of the CAC/MDT process
- Facilitate and document multidisciplinary team meetings throughout service region according to approved protocol
- Identify training needs for MDT professionals and disseminate information to team members about available training opportunities
- Create written material for trainings, caregiver and community partner education, and public relations
- Maintain current knowledge of partner agency personnel assigned to MDT investigations, including changes to partner agency assignments impacting CAC and MDT
- Partner with other organizations to ensure external case review meeting facilitators engage in best-practices for MDT facilitation
- Collaborate with all CAC staff to provide monitoring and case management services for all cases
- Evaluate MDT processes and work to ensure adherence to NCA Accreditation Standards related to MDTs
- Provide tracking of cases and relevant statistical data at regular intervals
- May supervise interns/volunteers as assigned
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop positive relationships with community partners, families, co-workers and team members
- Must be team oriented, flexible and self-motivated
- Minimum of 2 years working in child welfare, criminal justice, or related field
- Prior experience working within a multi-disciplinary team setting
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or similar field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 12 hours of ongoing training per year
