What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, WISE Families position at Children's Aid and Family Services, Inc.?
Function: To provide administrative and clinical oversight to the Wrap-Around Intensive Services program (WISE).
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Screens referral information for eligibility, processes intakes and assigns cases to clinical staff;
- Serves as the program’s core member at monthly Multi Disciplinary Team meetings, interfaces with the Prosecutor’s Office Juvenile Unit, and when applicable with the Public Defender and Probation Departments;
- Maintains a working partnership with the Wynona’s House Child Advocacy Center, Newark Beth Israel Regional Diagnostic & Treatment Center (RDTC), and maintains ongoing relationships with referral/funding sources, including Division of Child Protection & Permanency, Youth Service Commission, Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, Essex County via Children’s Inter-Agency Coordinating Council (CIACC), and Partnership for Children;
- Monitors contractual agreements and ensures compliance with DCF contract requirements, YSC contract requirements, and other foundation support contract.
- Tracks program information and ensures that reporting requirements to funding sources are adhered to, such as Annex A quarterly and annual reporting.
- Participates in as needed administrative calls with the Oklahoma University Health & Sciences Center (OUHSC) team as well as engages in as needed clinical consultation calls to conference challenging cases;
- Monitors the data entry for Carelogic and JAMS for: entry of demographics, referral and intake information, program disposition, assessment tool data, program evaluations, and post-discharge/follow-up information;
- Responsible to review client charts for accuracy and completion on a regular basis with staff members;
- Manages tasks related to program sustainability and potential expansion.
- Train clinicians to ensure the ongoing implementation of the PSB-CBT treatment model and follow OUHSC fidelity requirements.
- Engage in community outreach and community education regarding the PSB population and PSB-CBT treatment model.
Clinical/Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervision of staff who provide clinical services to WISE families;
- Supervision of interns/field placements supporting the WISE families programs, includes: process recordings, communications & meetings with schools/field placement advisors, and evaluations;
- Facilitates one of the weekly treatment groups, and is coordinator for the full group process;
- Ensures completion of group documentation, including oversight of weekly logging;
- Chairs weekly pre and post-group staffing meetings with the treatment team and ensures follow up;
- Assigns cases, opens clinical case records for clients; conducts initial screening and completes other documentation, as needed.
- Provides case coverage when necessary to ensure that all active families in treatment are receiving the services they are entitled to;
- Participates in collateral contacts for families, as needed;
- Participates in regular supervision with the clinical director;
- Attends relevant trainings and participates in case consultation as needed; and
- Works adjusted hours to accommodate evening and weekend appointments with children and families
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Master’s level professional with appropriate licensure – LCSW or LPC preferred
- Strong clinical skills, including working knowledge of DSM IV
- Knowledge of child sexual abuse and children with sexual behavior problems, child welfare and childhood traumatic stress
- Excellent organization and communication skills – oral and written
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Willingness to obtain clinical supervision certificate - 3 years post receipt of LCSW or ACS
- Computer literacy skills – Microsoft Office Applications, specifically, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle for self-transportation
- Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and races
- Ability to effectively work as a team member
- Ability to effectively work with clients including intervention skills and relationship-building
