Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment and material to various locations while ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism in all driving activities.
Duties
- Core Driving Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles to deliver products and materials to designated locations
Loading & Unloading
- Load and unload items safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of goods
- Load equipment (picking up) and unload (dropping off) in a safe manner
- Move equipment to designated storage location areas
- Use ramps to load/unload equipment as necessary
- Properly secure equipment with ratchet straps or similar devices
Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Handle light maintenance: maintain proper fluids, wipers, fuel, tire pressure
- Keep vehicles clean
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs as required
- Maintain HIPAA compliance protocols for client and family information
- Attend requested meetings in person, via computer, or by phone
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries
- Address customer inquiries or concerns
- Represent the company in interactions with clients and business partners professionally
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed, using proper techniques to prevent injury
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as needed by C.A.T.S. locations
- Navigate assigned routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Drive vehicles safely and properly, obeying all traffic and safety laws
- Plan efficient, productive, and safe travel routes
- Ensure proper and safe load management before and while driving
Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
- Current driver’s license, safe driving record as by DMV record.
- Evidence of current personal automobile insurance coverage with minimum VA coverage requirements
- Prior experience driving Ford Transit van or similar helpful
- High school diploma
- Ability to clearly communicate with donors, clinic staff and CATS employees/volunteers.
- Ability to plan routes and schedules for pickups and deliveries using own phone or GPS device.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50Ibs
- Working knowledge of safe loading / tie-down practices including ratchet straps and static ramps
